In this webinar, FAA staff discussed the plan and approach to improve the processes associated with planning and management of projects on airfield. A panel of experts talked about when, why, and how to collaborate with the FAA on development projects.
January 19, 2023—Introduction of No-Lead Fuels to General Aviation
Speaker: George Braly, Aeronautical Engineer and Co-founder, General Aviation Modifications Inc.
On September 1, 2022, the FAA signed supplemental type certificates that allow General Aviation Modifications Inc.’s 100-octane unleaded fuel (G100UL) to be used in every general aviation spark-ignition engine and every airframe powered by those engines. This webinar explained the change and provided information on the EAGLE (Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions) initiative and FAA’s path to a lead-free aviation system, differences between the fuels being introduced (i.e., G100UL vs. UL94), what airplane owners need to do to use unleaded avgas, and how airports will roll out unleaded avgas.

This webinar will provide an overview of MnDOT Aeronautics’ airport reimbursement process. Topics covered will include:
- Differences in the process for funding between NPIAS and non-NPIAS airports
- Education on how to request funding and how to format the funding request
- An overview of the different types of money available to airports

All webinars will be hosted using Zoom. We recommend that all registrants test their connection prior to the workshop using Zoom’s test meeting. Additionally, if you are new to Zoom, we recommend viewing this Zoom for Students tutorial.
