Mindy Carlson, AirTAP program director, retired June 3. She was a long-time leader and contributor to the Technical Assistance Programs (TAPs) and customized training at CTS. Mindy played a key role in developing many of the TAP’s signature training programs, participated in national associations, and worked closely with MnDOT and the Office of Aeronautics, Local Road Research Board, and other Minnesota organizations to ensure responsive programs that met the needs of local transportation agencies.
Following, Mindy shares highlights from her work and sends her farewell. Thank you, Mindy!
I didn’t start my career in a transportation field, and honestly, I didn’t think I would stay at CTS long term, but here I am saying goodbye after 27 years! I had no idea how rewarding this job would be, but it became my passion, and an honor and a privilege to serve Minnesota’s local agencies and the aviation community. I have met and worked with so many wonderful professionals that I will miss dearly, from my colleagues at CTS to our MnDOT partners, association members, and consultants.
Over the last several years Katherine Stanley, our program manager, and I have been working together building on the programs we offer through AirTAP. I’m very proud of the breadth and quality of our offerings and the customer service we provide, and am excited for AirTAP’s future as Katherine steps in to lead the program going forward. I’m looking forward to watching, from the sidelines, AirTAP’s progress under Katherine’s leadership. Farewell friends, and happy trails!
